EU starts registering imports of Chinese carbon steel fasteners

Certain fasteners of iron or steel from China imported into the European Union have become subject to registration, the European Commission (EC) said in a decision published in the Official Journal of the EU on Thursday June 17.

The product subject to registration is certain fasteners of iron or steel, other than of stainless steel, i.e. wood screws (excluding coach screws), self-tapping screws, other screws and bolts with heads (whether or not with their nuts or washers, but excluding screws and bolts for fixing railway track construction material), and washers, originating in the People’s Republic of China.
